Day 9: Departure Day

We’ll spend one last night in Nyeri after the marathon. For those who are up to it, we’ll have a recovery run in the morning. Then, we’ll wrap things up, say our goodbyes, and begin looking back on our extraordinary running adventure. Some may choose to extend their stay in Kenya, while others will begin their trip home.

Before the athletes go to sleep, I want them to know what tomorrow’s training will be. After the session, I explain to them why we did our activities. When an athlete comes to the camp, he is hungry to get a different recipe. He is ready to learn and accept. What you need to do as the coach is create a friendly atmosphere.

- Legendary Coach Jimmy Beauttah, from RUN TO WIN

If you have an extra week to spend in Kenya we recommend visiting the beautiful coastal region around Mombasa.
